2. Corn-fed beef
Cattle fed with corn fatten up quickly than those raised eating grass. Whereas corn-fed beef is cheaper as compared to the other, it means that it is less nutritious. Animals are meant to feed on grass, which makes them rich in Vitamin E, beta-carotene, conjugated linoleic acid, omega-3s, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. All these elements are crucial to the body and are only found in grass fed cattle making them the best choice over corn-fed cattle.
3. Farmed salmon
Farmed salmon fed with hydrolyzed chicken feathers, soy and poultry litter, is lower in vitamin D and very high in contaminants such as PCBs, carcinogens, pesticides, and brominated flame retardants. These substances are very harmful to your health and pesticides such as dioxin and DDT can lead to the development of cancerous cells in the body. Studies have also linked DDT to obesity and diabetes. When you take farmed salmon, your body get the same antibiotics and pesticides used to treat these salmon.
4. Non-organic strawberries
According to Robert Kenner, the director of Food Inc, non-organic strawberries are full of pesticides. He laments that it is very unfortunate that when applying pesticides to the foods that people consume, workers wear protective masks and suits and the same foods are sprayed with not only one chemical but dozens of known dangerous chemicals that are hazardous to your body.
